Jester King Brewery Cracking Down on Line Mules

Even the rain couldn’t stop the Jester King fanatics from finding ways to work around the one-per-person ‘rule’ for its latest release,  Montmorency vs Balaton.

In a blog posted on the Jester King website, details about the ever-growing line mule problem have finally caused the acclaimed farmhouse ale brewery to rethink some of its policies. “The limit is designed to boost access to our beer, and the people who violated it deprived others of the chance to purchase. We managed to stop several people throughout the course of the weekend who attempted to go through the Montmorency vs Balaton line multiple times. However, other people were successful in breaking the limit. Certain individuals managed to go through the line more than once by removing the ink stamp applied to each customer’s hand upon purchasing a bottle and/or by using disguises to fool our staff.”

Damn shame.

One of the biggest ways these line mules are able to get more than their fair share of bottles is to go around the picnic tables and ask others to stay in line for them.  Seriously.

Of course there are some people opposed to any step up in effort are complaining that beer is meant to be enjoyed! We’re still paying them for their product! Blah, blah.  Wouldn’t you want more people to enjoy Jester King’s offerings, instead of being a hoarder? No one likes hoarders.  No one.

How do you feel about these stricter policies? Good for the overall enjoyment, or just another way the man is keeping you down?

I've lived in Texas all my life and can't express how much I love this state. I found that I was enjoying these amazing bbq spots and drinking fantastic Texas-made beer and wanted my buddies and I to be able to share them with our readers.
